I want to talk about self love. This is a must. One of my favorite singers Mary J. Blige said it best in “Be Happy“, “How can I love somebody else, if I can’t love myself…” Now if you know the song you know the rest. To the younger girls, you might have to look it up.
If you love yourself you don’t have to wait for others to compliment you. You can do it yourself. You won’t have to think of others opinion of you. Yours is the most important any way. Unless you are doing it for others approval. If that’s the case you have some work to do.
If you are different from others, embrace it. You were made to stand out. God made you the way He wanted you. You are perfect in His sight. If there is a situation you’re in and that’s not where you want to be, it’s okay. It’s not permanent, and that doesn’t define you. The car you drive, house you live in, the clothes you wear doesn’t define you. Ladies, having a spouse doesn’t validate you either.
It’s so true, how can you love someone else and have none for yourself? It doesn’t add up. Have love for yourself and it will help you attract suitable mates instead of settling for whoever comes by.
