When it comes to health, it’s imperative that we take care of ourselves. Health includes keeping your mind, body, and spirit in shape. Your body gives you signals or alerts that something is wrong. When this happens, take the time to follow up with your healthcare provider, whether that is a medical doctor, nurse practitioner, holistic practitioner, or physician assistant.
Don’t forget that you are in a partnership with your healthcare provider. They rely on you to communicate with them. It’s best if the communication is honest. Don’t tell them what you think you want them to hear. You will be doing a disservice to yourself if you do. If you aren’t taking the prescribed treatment, let them know. There could be other alternatives. You will be hurting yourself in the long run. If you are taking over the counter medications like Ibuprofen and herbal supplements, provide that information as well. Over the counter medication may have an interaction with the prescribed medications and produce a harmful effect.
A trip to the doctor’s office may lead to coming home with a new diagnosis. Then again, it could be that you received a report from the doctor that there’s an improvement in weight loss, cholesterol level decreased, or that medical imaging confirmed a bone is healing. Whatever the case may be, health can include treatment, prevention, and healing. On this blog, I will share with you all three aspects.
