Hey y’all! It’s a new season and I’m switching things up a bit. It’s been a while and I have some new followers and subscribers, so I’ll let you get to know more about me.
I born to a single mother and raised in the South in a rural tight knit community named Mayesville, SC. Home of the late great Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. Vice presidential nominee Senator Kamala Harris referenced the educator in her acceptance speech weeks ago. Mayesville is where everyone knows just about everyone. I’m a country girl at heart. I love an outdoor serene setting. That brings me joy and peace. Now on to a little bit more about me.
Things You May Not Know About Me
1. I’m an Aries. They say we are stubborn, caring, and blunt. I agree with it.
2. Have I been married a long time? I’ve been married 5 years.
3. Do I want kids? I sure do. And believing that our babies are on the way soon.
4. I’m a Christian. The Lord has brought me a mighty long way. And I’m still growing.
5. I’m a homeowner. Purchased my first home at the age of 24. One week after closing my mom died unexpectedly. Just so happened to be the same day as my husband’s birthday. That led to clinical depression. I wrote about in this post. On a brighter note, I’m thinking about tapping into the real estate world.
6. I like to eat healthy. You can find me in the grocery store reading food labels. They try to be slick with “no sugar addeded”, but I know -ose equals sugar. Oh and I don’t like any melons! That’s watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew, or any kind of melon.
7. I’m a RN which is a registered nurse. I’ve wanted to be one since I was a little child. Believe it or not I’ve been a college clinical nursing instructor and I’ve worked at a detention center (jail).
8. What’s something I purchased recently? I believe I slowed down on online clothing shopping. By the way I was featured on NY & Company’s social media page in Feb 2020. I’m wearing a pink pant suit. Alright back to the question- I just purchased a bike. I started riding in my neighborhood and on some trails with my husband and his siblings.
9. I’m a low key matchmaker. If I know of a single guy I’m always ready to hook up my single girlfriends. My last couple are still together after I hooked them up last year. And my brother in law also hits me up to help out his single female friends too as I’ve matched him with his wife.
10. I like karaoke. I can’t really sing, but I try hard though. Two years ago hubby put together a birthday celebration for me and a couple of my friends and our (his) family. This was my karoeke debut and I had a ball! I sang some hits by Anita Baker, Whitney Houston, and Gladys Knight. My husband, his brother, and cousin were The Pips for my song by Gladys.

11. This may shock some, but I cut my locs off! It was just time. Plus I missed my natural coils.
